Some reminders for this Saturday’s LPS Showcase event:  (Full itinerary in announcements)

We perform at 8:00pm and in our time slot there will be 3 events:

  1. 9th Grade performance of “Sixty Years of the 60’s”

  2. Senior recognition

  3. 10-12 Band performance of “Boy Band Legacy.”

We will exit immediately afterward and head up to the band room to change out of uniform.  Students are not allowed to come into the stands to meet parents after the performance.  All spectators will exit and meet students in the parking lot or back outside the band room.

Admission is free.

Each band member is limited to 4 family members / spectators.  You must be on the list used at football games in order to gain entry.  If you need to change a name, please contact Donna Straight in the East Athletics office.  If you have friends and relatives who would like to see the performances, it will be streamed live at  http://bit.ly/LPSLive.

We were allowed to do our senior speeches as usual in the gym but not allowed to have a “team meal” of pizza like past years.  Since we are still not allowed parent help other than a truck driver, parents will not be allowed into the gym to observe the speeches.  We will video this and submit it out to all.

Also, potential programming note: Due to the NSAA’s restructuring of the State playoffs this year, every teams’ final game has been cancelled in order to make room for an additional round of playoffs.  This means that the outcomes of the next 2 games determine whether or not we host a game or possibly have a bye on that final game on Oct. 23rd.  There is also a possibility that we would host a game on Oct. 30th.  If so, we will perform as the home band.

More details to come so stay tuned.

Thank you,

Mr. Thorpe, Ms. Shively, Mr. Layher, and Mrs. Riley
