(Full Band) ​Homecoming game is THURSDAY night, 7:00 p.m. game.  See attached itinerary.

(Full Band) ​ Pep Rally this Thursday in between 2nd and 3rd periods.  You will all be dismissed the last 10 minutes of 2nd period.

(Full Band) All-State applicants: We will record on the night of the last AWAY game, next Thursday, September 27th.  Stay tuned for times.  If you are scheduled to play at the game, you need to go first and then head down to the stadium. SCALES HAVE BEEN ANNOUNCED!

(Full Band) ​Come support your fellow musicians!  The first concert of the year in the music department features Jazz Band, Jazz Choir, 9th Grade Orchestra, Chamber Strings, Symphony Orchestra, and East Singers.  Concert time is 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 24th in the East Auditorium.

(Full Band) ​Please get the word out about “Band Night” on October 5th.  We are inviting any past Spartan band members back to play in the stands with us that game.  If you are still in touch with recent graduates let them know!  Instruments are not provided.

(10-12 Band) ​Leadership meeting every Tuesday morning at 7:15 a.m.  Trumpets have treats this week

(9th Grade Band) ​Our first memory check will be due Sunday night and it is over Evil Ways.  We will provide instructions on how to record and upload as an attachment and cover this in class.

(Full Band)​  Wayne St. College Festival of Honor Bands will be held on Saturday, January 26th.  You will find ALL audition instructions and materials at www.wsc.edu/honor-band​.  Please follow the Audition Instructions found on the website when making and submitting auditions.

(Full Band) Volunteer opportunity! Make the day for a terminally ill, autistic young man who LOVES watching marching bands perform. Share your talent and marching skills at a party celebrating his life! Any interested band members that would like to use their musical skills and perform as part of a small marching band at a celebration of life party on September 22nd should contact Isaac Cary or his parents, David and Paulette, atdrandpjcary@gmail.com. (Full Band) Doane University Honor Band info is now available.  One web link is for general information: ​www.doane.edu/ffw-students​ and one web link is for audition materials: ​www.doane.edu/ffw-student-application​.  ​There are two paths to take for this group: auditioned and non-auditioned.  If you audition, you are guaranteed a spot in 1 of the 3 bands.  If you don’t audition, you are not guaranteed a spot.

(Full Band)​  Away Game Rosters:  We have 3 “away” games at Seacrest this year. This means we show up in Polos and jeans, sit on the other (East) stands and play pep tunes but do not march at halftime.  We have split the band into 3 evenly numbered pep bands.  Our primary goals were 1) disperse leadership / seniors evenly and 2) keep siblings in the same band for ease of transportation for families.  Each student will perform at 1 of the 3 games.  Exceptions: Color Guard and all Frontline are excused from Away games.  Upperclassmen drumline will play at all 3.  9th Grade Drumline will choose at least 1 to attend.

(Full Band)  ​The October 5th Football Game will be “Band Appreciation Night”. It will be full of Spartan band members: 9th grade will perform at Pre-game, Alumni will sit in the stands with us, 8th graders will also sit in with us, as well as honoring our Band Seniors at halftime.  Stay tuned for more details.

As you may be aware, the 9th grade band and the 10-12th grade band have themes to their marching shows each year.  This year, the theme of the 9th grade show is “Caliente” and the theme of the 10-12th grade show is “Among the Stars”.

Two t-shirts have been designed for families and students to show support for their respective shows.  These shirts are fun to wear at football games and upcoming competitions, and they make excellent keepsakes for your student.

Orders will be accepted until midnight tomorrow night, Tuesday, September 18th.  No late orders will be accepted.   Due to our limited budget, we will not be ordering any extra shirts, so if you are thinking about placing an order, we encourage you to do so as soon as possible.  Your payment must accompany your order form.   Order forms and payments may be delivered to the band room or mailed to the school c/o East Band Boosters.  We anticipate that the shirts will arrive before Harvest of Harmony on October 6th.



*Move and set up equipment (“Pit Crew”)—we could use 4 more volunteers

*Assist student with uniforms (“Uniform Assistants”)—we need 9 more volunteers

*Keep the band hydrated (“Water Volunteers”)—we need 2 volunteers to fill coolers before the game and 2 at half-time to refill the coolers, clean them out and put away after the game.

*Hang out with the 9th Grade Band at Half-Time (“Band Wranglers”)—we need 5 volunteers.

*Assist with Color Guard hair and make up (“Color Guard Assistants”)—we need 2 volunteers starting around 5:00-ish p.m

DINE OUT AT RUNZA – Tuesday, September 25th

Everyone has to eat, right?  Why not have dinner out while supporting the East Band!  Please come and have dinner at Runza at 70th and Van Dorn on Tuesday, September 25th from 5:00-8:00 p.m.   No need to tell them you are there to support East.  A percentage of the sales during that time period will support the band!!!

PHOTO MAKE UP DAY – Tuesday, October 2nd

The photo make up day for outstanding photos products/photo buttons for Color Guard and any band members who did not have their pictures taken on August 3rd, has been scheduled for Tuesday, October 2nd at 2:15 in the Auditorium.

The Mill and the Boosters are teaming up with a coffee/tea/hot chocolate/cider fundraiser! Everyone knows someone who likes coffee! Students will make $5.50 per coffee bag sold and $5 per tea bag sold. Money earned will go towards the band.  Monthly orders will be accepted at the monthly booster meetings.  Orders will then be ready within about a week.  Visit the Band’s website at www.lincolneastband.org.  Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on “Fundraisers” to access the order forms.
